About Us

The firm of Alliegro Law Office, LLC, has a long history of providing professional, competent, honest and affordable legal representation to its clients. From its inception by Howard Johnson in 1949, the firm has continued to serve clients in Chisago County and surrounding communities.

The office of Alliegro Law Office, LLC is located at 105 North Main Street in the historic business district of Center City established by the Swedish settlers. The building has accommodated attorneys engaged in the private practice of law since 1920. In 2004, we lovingly (and painstakingly) restored the building to many of its original features. Our office is located a block from the Chisago County Government Center and Courthouse, and across the street from the Chisago Lake Evangelical Lutheran Church.

When Howard began practicing in 1949 in Center City, he maintained an office in the Chisago County Courthouse and then briefly in the former Westlund Monument Company before purchasing the building at 105 North Main Street. Prior to his retirement in 1987, Howard became well-respected through his representation of a number of cities, banks, businesses and individuals. He also served as Chisago County Attorney for many years until that position became full-time. Bruce Johnson joined his Uncle Howard’s practice in 1976. After more than thirty-five years of successful representation of individuals and businesses, and involvement in the community, Bruce retired from private practice in December 2011.

The firm has undergone a few letterhead changes since 1949, including the names of a former partner who is now a retired State District Court Judge, former partner, James S. Casterton, who opened a title insurance and closing company in Lindstrom in 2003, and Peter J. Grundhoefer, who passed away in 2014.

Our law practice is built on relationships and the goal of serving clients with respect and concern. This is true now, as it was in 1949 when Howard first opened the firm.
